Terms of Use

Version 2026-10-13 · Effective October 13, 2026

Plain-English summary. StrengthLogix is a logging tool, not a doctor, trainer or coach. Strength training can injure you. You decide what you lift and you train at your own risk. By using StrengthLogix you give up claims against us for injuries and losses, to the fullest extent the law allows. Please read the full terms below; they are what actually apply.

1. Who we are and agreeing to these terms

StrengthLogix (the "App"), including the website at strengthlogix.com and the application at lift.strengthlogix.com, is provided by Gifford Development LLC ("Gifford Development", "we", "us" or "our"). These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Gifford Development. By checking the agreement box, tapping "I agree", or otherwise using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. You must be 18 or older

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the App. By using it, you confirm that you are.

3. What StrengthLogix is and is not

The App is a simple log. You record the result of a strength test, and the App does arithmetic on your own entries: it averages your past rest periods to show when a muscle may be "ready", and suggests a heavier weight after you reach a rep limit you choose. The App:

Statuses such as "Ready", targets such as "Goal 12+ reps", weight increases, and encouragement such as "take it to failure" are general motivational prompts generated from your own data. They are not instructions. You alone decide whether, what and how to train.

4. Your health and safety

5. Assumption of risk

Strength training and other physical exercise involve inherent risks, including but not limited to muscle strains, sprains, tears, fractures, joint and back injuries, injuries from dropped weights or equipment failure, cardiovascular events, aggravation of existing conditions, permanent disability and death. You understand these risks and voluntarily assume all of them, whether known or unknown, and whether or not they arise from following, ignoring or misreading anything shown by the App.

6. Release and waiver of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release, waive, discharge and agree not to sue Gifford Development LLC and its members, managers, officers, employees, contractors, agents, successors and assigns (the "Released Parties") from any and all claims, demands, losses, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including attorneys' fees) of any kind arising out of or related to your use of the App, your exercise or training, or any information, status, suggestion or data in the App, including claims for personal injury, illness, disability, death or property damage, and including claims based on the negligence of any Released Party.

You acknowledge that you may later discover facts different from or in addition to those you now know or believe, and you intend this release to apply anyway. You expressly waive the benefit of California Civil Code section 1542 and any similar law, which states: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party."

This release does not apply to liability that cannot be released or limited under applicable law, such as liability for fraud, willful injury or gross negligence.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy or availability. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that its calculations or suggestions will be accurate or suitable for you, or that your data will be preserved. Your log is stored on your device and, if you sign in, with our service providers; it can be lost. Keep your own backups using Settings → Export backup.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will Gifford Development or any Released Party be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of or related to the App or these Terms, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for all claims arising out of or related to the App or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). The App is currently free.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use or misuse of the App, your exercise or training, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.

10. Your account and data

Signing in is optional. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under it. You keep ownership of the training data you enter, and you give us permission to store, process and transmit it only as needed to run the App, including syncing it between your devices. How we handle data is described in the Privacy Notice.

11. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the App, including by attempting to access other people's data, interfering with or overloading the service, reverse engineering it where the law does not allow it, or using it for any unlawful purpose.

12. Changes, suspension and termination

We may change, suspend or discontinue all or part of the App at any time, with or without notice, and may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms. We may update these Terms; the version and effective date above will change, and the App may ask you to agree again. If you keep using the App after an update, you accept the updated Terms. Sections 5 through 9 and 13 through 15 survive any termination.

13. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the App will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

14. Severability and entire agreement

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the rest of the Terms will remain in full effect. In particular, if any part of the release or limitation of liability is held unenforceable, the remainder applies to the fullest extent allowed. These Terms and the Privacy Notice are the entire agreement between you and us about the App. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, sale or reorganization.
